Heavy rains have created tougher than usual conditions for the competitors, but many rose to the occasion and caught trout. The USA Youth Team has a sizable team lead after session 1 and 2 as Team USA and Team Umpqua fight for a close second. Team Freestone's Pat Weiss is the individual points leader followed closely by Team USA's Devin Olsen and Team Naranja Fly Fishing Academy's Yann Caleri and Norman Maktima. Stay tuned for day 2 as the anglers once again fish the area rivers and lakes in search for the prestigious America Cup. Spectating is great at Sylvan Lake, where today Italy's Sandro Soldarini caught and released 32 trout in 3 hours!
